Research about the style of Resume according to the Country: Every Country has a specific style of resume. Research the resume template for the country in which you want to apply for a job. Creta your resume according to the templates. Some countries prefer CV (Curriculum Vitae) over resume. There is a slight difference between the two. 

Add your Skills: This is a very important part. Add your technical and cross-cultural skills in your resume as most international companies mainly focus on your skills so that they can get the idea that you will be able to merge in your company's culture easily or not. The cross- cultural skills involve language knowledge and your skills in international collaborations.

 

Length of the Resume: It is also very important. The length of your resume may vary according to the country. Some countries prefer resumes with single or max two pages while others prefer long resumes. Write your resume length according to the country you are applying for the job.  

 

Personal information: Every resume contains the personal information of the candidates. But in certain countries too much personal information is not required. Even in some European and North American countries disclosure of too much information is considered as illegal. 

 

The way to represent your work: It is important how you represent your work in  your application. Some countries prefer how efficiently you sell yourself to them through your work while others consider a moderate approach and don’t like boasting.

Write a professional summary: It's important and give a strong outline to your resume. It includes your strong skill sets and how they will help in the position you are applying for. 

 

Educational Information: Add your education including your achievements in school and  recent certification in the field of education.

 

Additional information: Add information about foreign languages known and professional certification related to the job.

 

Extracurricular activities and volunteer work: Add your extra credit work of activities and volunteer work with the list of organizations you have worked with.

 

Visa status: also include your visa application status so that your potential employer will get a better understanding about your joining the work if you are hired. 

 

Change your Language setting: if you are applying to a country which has a different English than yours then it's good if you change the language preference to the same country while writing the resume. Some countries also prefer resumes in their own language, so it's better to translate your resume in the said country’s language. 

 

Put International experiences together: if you have any international experience, its wise to put that all together in a separate column in your resume. Do not mix domestic and international work. Also mention the visa status at that time.
